Community Compassion Network (CCN) was birthed as a ministry of Community Church in 2005 after a staff member observed a mom and her children dumpster diving for food, right here in the Mt Pleasant area. More than a decade and many changes later, CCN still strives to fulfill their mission of Feeding Our Neighbors, Sharing Christ’s Love.
Information about Community Compassion Network can be found on their website, ccnfeeds.org.
Along with the help of many volunteers, CCN also packs and distributes 700 bags, twice monthly, to elementary schools for children involved with Nutrition Club. The bags contain simple, often single serve packages and snacks that are easily prepared by the young children for their meals over the weekend.
CCN has recently accepted responsibility to provide the administrative and volunteer duties for the William Ellis Brockman Infant Pantry. This initiative will provide baby formula, baby food and diapers for babies under two years of age.
