Update on COVID-19 | Services Cancelled for remainder of March
Worship with us online on Sundays via our live stream at 10:15 am.
It seems right now that every 24 hours is filled with extra measures of awareness and protection for the public. As I’m sure you are aware, the governor of Michigan has closed all schools in the State for the next few weeks. We want to make sure we are listening carefully to State officials and representatives of the medical community. In light of this, we are going to suspend our public worship gatherings, at both campuses, for the next few weeks. We will not have a public church service this Sunday or any other Sunday, likely for the rest of this month. Additionally, we are canceling all other ministry events that would normally take place throughout the week including studentLife, uNite, Wednesday groups, community groups that meet on campus, etc. This was one of our contingencies in the event of the state closing of the schools.
We don’t want anyone feeling disconnected as a result of these changes. Please join us online at 10:15 am this Sunday where we will have a massive online church presence as we worship and open up God’s Word together. Again, the church building will not be open, but we will host the service for everyone to view online on our facebook page and on our website at mpcc.org.
Obviously, there will not be an opportunity to take an offering in person that supports the ongoing ministry of the church. To continue to give toward our shared mission while we are unable to meet in person, you can give conveniently from your phone by texting ‘mpccgive’ or 'CCAlmaGive' to 77977. Or, visit mpcc.org/give to set up direct deposit or recurring giving. As a reminder, now may be a great time to take advantage of online giving to help support your local church even when you are unable to attend a worship service. More information can be found on our website at mpcc.org/give.
For now, this is a call to the church to 'prayer and fasting' for the remainder of the month. Let's dedicate these next few weeks to praying for our community and world as well as the health of those who need God’s healing power.
Church – this is not the end of the world, although some might have us believe that. Let’s keep our eyes on Jesus and our hearts 'together on purpose'. Love to everyone at both our campuses.
